• Perforation of the eardrum. Highly unlikely, but if pain develops during treatment you must inform the
pharmacist. You need to keep your head still.
• Trauma to the ear canal. This doesn't happen often but is a possibility, and will be minor should it occur. Is more
likely to happen if the wax has adhered to the ear canal wall or the eardrum.
• The treatment may be noisy, especially as we get nearer to the eardrum.
• mild dizziness, esp with Irrigation, this is rare, but if you develop this it usually subsides with minutes.
• mild tinnitus, esp with microsuction, this is rare, but if you develop this it usually subsides after 1-2 days.
• Keep ears dry for 48 hours to minimise the risk of infection developing. Use cotton wool if washing hair, etc.
• Avoid swimming or any procedure which involves water getting in your ear(s).
• Use Olive Oil Spray periodiacally once/twice a month to help with the normal 'migratory process' of the ear.
• If pain develops, either see your GP or contact the pharmacist for advice.
